Over the years, Scotland has produced some fine players. Many of those players have played in successful teams both north and south of the border with England.
The best Scottish players have played in European football’s biggest competition, the European Cup or Champions League as it is now known. However, which Scottish players have made the most appearances in the competition?

Although he enjoyed a trophy-laden domestic playing career, he never won a European trophy with the Hoops.

Dalglish made 21 appearances for the Scottish giants in European football’s elite competition, scoring five goals. His switch to Merseyside in 1977 proved to be a career-defining one.
The move saw Dalglish taste the success of winning the European Cup on three occasions in 1978, 1981 and 1984. In all, Dalglish made 47 appearances in the European Cup for the Reds, scoring ten goals and producing 19 assists.
